Gilchrist Park spans 11 acres along the waterfront between downtown and Fishermen’s Village, offering amenities like a playground, sports courts, a fishing pier and picnic pavilions, as well as hosting smaller events. Named after Governor Albert Gilchrist, a prominent figure in Punta Gorda’s history, the park includes the Bayfront Center, which the YMCA operates for community programs and rentals.
